Accountability Questions

Consider reviewing these questions weekly with your sponsor, coach, partner, counselor weekly.

Part I
  1. Have you surrendered your will and life to God each day and accepted His love, mercy and grace?
  2. Have you spent sufficient time meditating and in prayer?
  3. Have you been  empathetic (e.g. sitting in my wife’s pain) or mostly selfish this week?
  4. Have you remained sober from alcohol, lust alcohol, drugs and greed?
  5. Have you pursued your wife this week (told her you loved her, that she looks beautiful, that she is a wonderful person, found a simple gift or completed act of kindness)?
  6. Have you apologized for any mis-steps on your part?
  7. Have you been humble, honest, present, vulnerable and compassionate?
  8. Have you been able to stand in the midst of conflict without being defensive or argumentative?
  9. Have you listened actively to what your partner is saying?
  10. Have you shown a real sense of confident in your faith, recovery and growth?

Part II
  1. Have you had resentments, or set unrealistic expectations of yourself or others?
  2. Have you blamed, judged or been critical of others?
  3. Do you know your core emotional triggers (e.g. Alone/bored, Blamed, Criticized/conflict, Disappointment, Disconnected, Ignored, Financially insecure)?
  4. Have you had any of these triggers?  Did you respond appropriately?
  5. Do you feel confident in your ability to address triggers when they arise?
  6. Have you exaggerated or been overly boastful?

Part III
  1. Have you done sufficient step work this week?
  2. Have you met your goal for contact with your sponsor/coach/counselor/accountability group(s)?
  3. Have you kept up with doing the 10th step?
  4. Have you made calls to other men in recovery this week?
  5. Have you made your meetings goal?
  6. Have. you met your goals for meditation, breathing, prayer, exercise, healthy reading and eating?
  7. Have you been supportive to others?
  8. Are you overdoing tv, social media, sugar, food, soda as a replacement?


Part IV
  1. Have you been tempted this week?
  2. Did you want to search?
  3. Are you keeping secrets?
  4. Did you stay away / turn away from inappropriate images, movies, tv, videos, songs, books, social media, blogs, podcasts, etc.?
  5. Did you look multiple times, or objectify or continue to look too long?
  6. Did any situation lead to any inappropriate action - fantasy, watching, flirting, contacting, going in the wrong places, touching self or others?


Have you lied about any of these answers?
